Sebastian had formed a make-shift hammock from the strong vines and ferns in the jungle. During the day he would hunt from the tree tops, only dropping down to reap the bounties from his kill and bring them back tree-side once again. Renly had always told him that on the ground he could cover all sides but above him. By staying in the trees when he could, Sebastian had it all covered. He had been in the jungle nearly a week now, hunting and foraging and just all around staying alive. He had hoped that traveling to a new land might help him find meaning in this world, a purpose of some sort, but so far he had found nothing.

With the early morning tendrils of sun poking through the gaps in the canopy, Sebastian rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked up at the tall palm frond offering him shade. He pulled back the make-shift blanket he had made from moss and other foliage and sat up, rocking the hammock. With a yawn and a slight stretch, Sebastian cracked his neck and fingers before looking around for where he had left his pack.

The pack in particular was no where to be found however his weapon, was in the area, it seemed something or thing had made off with his supplies and all that remained was a basin with a strange liquid inside and his weapon which was made out of a specific material. Sure enough above him a Congalala was currently going through his pack along with three Conga's and they had divided up what ever food he had but surprisingly left him alone, maybe they were just waiting until he woke up before attacking but for now he wasn't at rick of getting killed. Perhaps he could make way to his weapon and to that strange basin which seemed to sparkle and draw him in.

It was a challenge or perhaps it was his Fate to wake up in bad situations one could just say he was rather unlucky, then again thinking about how his life story went that would be the accurate depiction of his entire existence.

    OOC: Metal. Light.

Sebastian looked up to where the overgrown monkeys were ripping through what few valuables he still had left in this world. He slowly scanned the area around him, his eyes falling to the rifle and bowl of liquid, which was odd because he didn't remember leaving a bowl out last night and there hadn't been any rain. Regardless, he slowly inched his way out of the hammock and onto the massive tree branch that held his things, being very careful to remain as silent as possible. Reaching the rifle, he grabbed the cool, metal barrel and pulled on the attached leather strip, placing it over his shoulder. He was in no mood to mess with a band of Congas, that could only end poorly. Congas were relatively large creatures that would freely rip apart anyone that had made the mistake of pissing them off. Looking at the bowl of liquid, Sebastian could see his reflection in the odd, somewhat murky liquid. With a shrug he dipped his finger in, stirring it to see if there was anything at the bottom or if he could drink it.

The liquid would flow over his body enveloping it and then settling down to form a clear semi solid film on his clothes it was cool to the touch but it didn't seem like it was anything dangerous or the like. The rifle was fully loaded, lucky him he didn't seem to have lost any ammo well other than whatever was in his pack. The conga's didn't notice him they were too busy going through his things however the Congalala would turn to look where he had been only moments before, perhaps he was quite lucky that he had moved. Either way he needed to get out of the immediate area lest risk a brutal confrontation, but so was life. To the east lay deeper forest, to the south were the partially destroyed buildings which littered the ruined forest to the north were the conga's...not fun, and to the east were less dense forest however it was also higher ground. The choice was of course his, though he should probably make that choice sooner or later before his position was revealed.

Sebastian inspected his new armor as the strange liquid enveloped his body and hardened into its current shape. That's...new. He muttered to himself before picking up his rifle and checking his clip. Ten rounds, three congalas, and a conga, he was going to need a lot more bullets. Looking up at the beasts one last time, Sebastian cringed as they literally ripped his pack in two, scattering whatever few contents had remained and going berserk as they fell to the ground below. The pack was a lost cause, he was back at square one and it was high time he get out of there. Looking to the south, he could see the remnants of buildings in the fairly close distance. Without a word, Sebastian made his way around the massive trunk of the tree, so as to hide himself from the beasts up above and began carefully, but quickly making his way down to lower branches. Several branches lower, he would begin running across the thick arms of the trees, headed for the ruins and hopefully some left behind food if at all possible.

He fled, relatively speaking it was a smart choice as a direct confrontation with the creatures could of very well led to his death, as he ran through the trees some had fruit on them though they were much lower to the ground and seeing as he was making his way to the ruins he would have to risk being spotted if he attempted to go for them, nonetheless when he made it to the ruins he had three options for entry, the first the most obvious was to merely drop to the ground and make his way through the ruins on the beaten path which was almost completely covered in grass and other things of that nature. The second was to continue on the branches and jump into the bare window of the closest building and the last was to climb higher and attempt to jump to one of the roofs of the buildings. They were bunched up together rather, nicely with a single building being much taller than the rest or rather the others used to be just as tall but only this one managed to stay the test of time. Of course it was none of his concern whether he should make way into that particular building other than it's height nothing else about it stood out and he could try and scavenge for resources in any of the buildings if he liked.

Sebastian stopped, resting his hand on the trunk of a tree to hold himself steady. He looked back in the direction of the monstrous apes and scanned the trees for a long minute before telling himself that they weren't in fact following him and he had made a clean getaway. Turning back to the front once more, Sebastian noticed the ruins had gotten surprisingly closer and could see a clear cut path into what could have only once been a small city. It was odd, the tree line never seemed to really end, instead it simply continued through the ruins as if the decrepit buildings were nothing more than rocks. The path he had seen left him out in the open and that just wasn't Sebastian's style, so instead he continued along the branches in front of him until reaching the nearest building. Testing his wait on the decaying concrete and metal, Sebastian placed his hands on either side of the window frame and pulled himself up, disappearing into the crumbling building without a sound.

He would slip in and right where he landed was a partially eaten corpse of a couple apparently they had stopped to rut in this place but then got eaten by something, it seemed to have a fondness for the upper body as their waist and everything below seemed to be intact but everything above was gone blood pooling all around the area. They were Nova of course judging by the build they weren't Prime rather Dakar. It happened, looking around it was fairly dark with some light streaming in through the cracks and what not and it led to another room which would be pitch black if not for some beams of light streaming in through cracks in the ceiling. Would he dare to continue forward or would he scan around looking for something to use that was left behind by this couple, who knows he could get lucky and find something worth while or, he could end up stumbling onto what ate them.

As Sebastian stepped down from the window, he felt his foot drop into some sort of liquid. The rank smell of decay immediately filled his nose and he grimaced as he bent down to see that he had in fact landed in a pool of blood. Noticing the half devoured corpses of whatever poor souls had met their ends here, Sebastian sighed, That's never a good sign. Pulling out his rifle from its strap on the back of his new armor, Sebastian flicked off the safety and began to slowly and silently make his way towards the wall to his left. The room was in front of him, but it would be easier to keep the wall to his back and move sideways towards the new room, that way nothing could sneak up on him. The cracks in the ceiling afforded some light, but other areas of his current room were still completely dark. Reaching the wall, he began to slowly inch his way towards the second room, ever aware of every little movement and sound.

As he entered the room he would be met with another squelching sound as he stepped on the bloody remains of another person and if he strained his eyes to see he would stumble upon not just three bodies but rather ten in total, apparently and entire group of people had been making this particular building their camp site all having been ambushed and killed by something. Near the walls there was a single one that seemed to be intact albeit blood coating the boys body and if one looked closely they could see the faint traces of his breathing. Near him was a bag of some kind one of the straps being undone one could see that it was full of fruit of some kind apparently the boy had been gathering and probably escaped being mauled due to arriving last. It was a pity a huge group of Nova just slaughtered like that, exactly what could of done this not to mention so violently as there were parts of the blood and guts splattered on the walls and ceiling...

Sebastian would stifle a cough before raising his undershirt up and placing the collar around his mouth and nose. The sickly sweet smell of death and decay stained the very walls of this room as he fought back bile rising in his throat. As Sebastian scanned the dimly lit room, his eyes fell on the pack of fruit and only after he had seen that and approached the pack, did he notice the still breathing boy beside it. He looked at the boy, careful not to wake him, inspecting him to see if he had received any life threatening wounds or if he was simply sleeping, possibly in shock at discovering the same thing Sebastian had stumbled upon. Regardless, the apes had taken his pack and the food that had been in it as well. Sebastian was in desperate need of food and the fruit looked ripe and delicious. [color=green]Sorry kid," he muttered before grabbing the strap of the pack and slinging it over his shoulder.

As Sebastian went to grab the pack the boy would wake up well no not really, more like he would jolt up and begin coughing his body going through spasms as he gripped his throat and looked at Sebastian with desperate eyes. This would only last for a moment, his plea anyways, as his eyes would soon enough roll to the back of his head and blood would spray out of his mouth as his throat began to enlarge and more blood kept spraying out his ribs cracking from the strain of seemingly being pushed out from the inside. Sure enough with another sickening crunch and more blood spraying out one if they looked at his ever expanding through and mouth could see rows of teeth emerging from his body as if something was inside of him and burrowing it's way out. His body kept twitching whatever was inside of him and was forcing it's way out was killing him and was probably whatever killed the rest of them and with another sharp crack something would burst out of his mouth with a shudder inducing cry and would jettison to the ceiling were it would land and stick to it. His body would slump to the ground and his stomach would burst open as another one seemed to emerge this one instead of blasting it's way to the ceiling would instead crawl back inside for a bit and would emerge coated in blood and would crawl out with a slightly stated appetite. They were Giggi, of course...a Gigginox in this area...so far away from the Lunar Cave's was that even possible...why would such a monstrous creature even dwell here in the light perhaps it had came at night and slaughtered them all to lay it's eggs the various bodies serving as host bodies for it's developing young.

Well there were multiple bodies and two Giggi nesting in one...perhaps one should do the math and begin to wonder exactly where the others were, seeing as Gigginox were light sensitive and it was rather unlikely it was still around.

Sebastian took a step back, keeping the pack taught around his shoulder as the boy started to move. He wasn't worried, he could kill the kid in a heartbeat if he needed to, never mind the fact that the kid looked like hell. As he watched however, his rifle drawn and pointed at the kid's heart, Sebastian's eyes went wide. A small creature burst forth from the boy and shot past Sebastian, anchoring itself to the ceiling behind him. What in the- Sebastian began, turning to stare at whatever had just emerged from the young child. He was cut short as the body began to move again and another creature appeared from the boy's torso, before going back in to continue its meal, feasting on warm flesh and muscle tissue. A cold shiver went up Sebastian's spine, he wasn't scared, but there was something seriously messed up with what was going on here. He looked at the creatures more closely before realizing they were in fact Gigi. He had never seen this particular type of creature before, as he had grown up in the desert, but he had been told of them. Nasty little buggers and a serious pain if they got close enough to you. Without hesitation, Sebastian fired a shot into the boy's open abdominal cavity, aiming for the Gigi nesting within before turning on his heels and firing a second shot not a second later at the one on the ceiling.

The bullet would hit the first one pacing through the rib cage of the boy and causing the giggi to cry out in pain the body seeming to fizz as the caustic liquid which comprised it's blood would spray out from the exit wound and corrode part of the boy's body. The second shot struck true as well causing the second giggi to cry out in pain as well before dropping to the floor with a sickening plop, all of a sudden more screeching would be heard. It would seem those were the only two yet to hatch and the others were merely sleeping after gorging on the bodies of their hosts, the gun shots having woken them up. They would begin to screech numbering about 16, four had gotten eaten by their siblings because they took too long to hatch, survival of the fittest and what not and the oldest was the size of half of Sebastian body. They would begin to writhe on the floor trying to get to their new prey with some moving in at normal running speed while the bigger ones moved at E rank speeds. One would plop down from the ceiling in front of the entrance that Sebastian came in through before rearing up and screeching it's mouth opening revealing rows and rows or needle like teeth. It was about the size of a medium sized dog looking like a bloody oversized leech, all of them being able to detect prey through a mixture of scent and heat signatures.

Sebastian would smile as he noticed the two Giggi drop dead where he had hit them.  He wasn't exactly surprised when the other remaining bodies began to move and contort in horrible ways, sure it was unnerving and he was quite disturbed, but having witnessed what he just had, it was to be expected.  As the large one dropped from the ceiling, blocking Sebastian's path, he began running towards it with his gun aimed at its head.  As the creature reared back its ugly head, Sebastian would fire off a single shot, aiming to blow off the back of the creature's head with the sheer force of the close range sniper shot.  If everything went as planned, he would continue running past the creature, careful to avoid the acidic blood that would be sure to follow and attempt to make his way out the window he had come in.  If things didn't work out the way he planned, he'd be fighting for his life.

As he fired the Giggi would vomit the projectile of liquid flying through the air at E-rank speeds only to collide with the bullet and burning it up as it passed through the two cancelling out. Seeming to follow that one's cue two more projectiles would be launched at Sebastian from behind and the Giggi blocking the door would begin to slither over to him crawling on it's belly. Two more crawled from either side coming from the far ends of the room while the oldest one had taken to the ceiling first climbing on the wall and then would begin to make it's way towards it's prey intending on not sharing with the others. The remaining Giggi would stay in place screeching or fighting among themselves as Giggi tended to do as they had a voracious appetite even for their own species, the only thing they didn't eat were their mother's...at least while said mother was alive anyways. It had to do with the pheromones she gave off otherwise they would eat away at her when she returned to carry them on her back. Giggi weren't exactly mindless leeches, no even as spawn they were intelligent, not smart enough to open doors but intelligent enough to realize that gravity exists and jumping out of a window while chasing prey would get them killed.

That's new.  Sebastian sighed, but didn't break stride as he heard the faint sounds of hacking from behind him and could only imagine mirroring acid spittle coming towards him from behind as well.  The Gigi blocking his path in front of him had actually made a grievous error in attempting to trap its prey, ergo Sebastian.  Continuing his run, Sebastian leapt over the Gigi, which had decided to go low to the ground to crawl towards Sebastian.  This would give him enough room to bound over the creature, leaving the room of horrors behind as he landed and continued his run towards the open window.  Just in case however, Sebastian flipped his rifle over, ready to use as a club in case the Gigi's head decided to shoot up and latch onto its prey.  The acid spit behind him would have no chance of reaching him so long as he maintained his pace.  Boy what I wouldn't give for some explosives right about now.  Sebastian said to no one in particular, gritting his teeth and dashing for the window.

Smart decision and the giggi would attempt to bolt upward to get him during the leap but would flinch away from the rifle leaving Sebastian to exit the room with the Giggi not following due to the light. They didn't like light, it really messed up there way of seeing things, Gigginox especially hated it, for unique..reasons. The acid spit would hit the walls melting a chunk of it before fizzling away but otherwise he was safe for now, three more would be sent towards him flying through the air but as long as he dodged them he could actually remain in this room and pick off the Giggi one by one as they wouldn't dare leave the darkness to follow. However it was up to him, he did have a good haul though the pack was slightly heavy but that was because of the food inside, sure fruits were known to eventually spoil but it would last him a time.

OOC: I'd like a Fated roll please. Your next post will make it 20.

Sebastian didn't even break stride as he landed past the Gigi and ran for the window. Without a second thought, he threw himself through the opening and rolled onto the massive tree branch. In a crouch now, he brought the rifle up and swiveled around to check the window in case any of the creatures had pursued him. He had noticed their aversion to light and after a long minute, decided they probably weren't coming after him. With a sigh, he leaned against the thick trunk of the tree and mumbled to himself, Decrepit buildings mean death, good to know. Looking down, he noticed the path leading into the thick of the ruins and decided that was his best bet. Usually he was against being out in the open, but if he stuck to the shade of the buildings he might be okay and less likely to get cornered somewhere. So, dropping down branch by branch, Sebastian hit the ground and headed down what could only be an ancient sidewalk, weapon at the ready.

Leaning on a building was a woman smoking a joint and she would raise an eyebrow when she saw the nova walking down the road, she herself was human but she didn't exactly mind it she just wondered if he was the type to kill first ask questions later because if he was then she would have to phase his rib cage out of his body. Yo. Fancy a smoke? she said with a short wave as if nothing was wrong with her just randomly standing there and would point to the joint in her said with a small smirk. She had a massive greatsword in a harness on her back and her armor seemed reminiscent of a Congalala. Otherwise she was fairly normal dark skin with her hair in braids which reached up to her shoulder and a pretty face with a nice body as humans had rid imperfection out of their genetics a long time ago.

Sebastian saw the girl several feet away and stopped for a moment. He didn't raise his weapon in her direction, but he was ready to if needed. He was about to ask her why she was out here when he realized how stupid of a question that was coming from someone like him, who in fact was out here as well. Sebastian looked the girl up and down curiously, she was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Most notably was her lack of ears, they were so tiny and deformed. Her body was magnificent, to say the least, and it was hard for Sebastian not to...respect it...with his eyes. Remembering her question, Sebastian shook his head, I don't smoke...but thanks. He added the second part as if an after thought. Walking closer now, slowly with his gun pointing away so as not to seem threatening, Do you know this area at all? He asked, wondering if this woman was aware of the Gigi in the building he had just come from.

Hmm nope, you could say I'm a tourist, for a far away world can't exactly get back to it nor do I want to. The woman said before taking another drag and pausing for a moment before exhaling through her nose and sighing in content. Though I ran into a giant pink gorilla and it's minions the other day, they weren't exactly friendly so I had to take them out. Such odd creatures you have here, makes me appreciate having a cat way back when. she said before pushing off the wall and stretching out careful not to drop any ashes on her hair or the rest of her body. So, how's it going run into any strange critters and the like, I've made it my personal goal to document the wild life in this place seeing as I'll be stuck here for a while, might as well have some semblance of my old job. she said taking another drag before flicking what remained of the joint onto the floor and stepping on it.

Sebastian stared at the girl, blinking in what could only be suppressed frustration. He had never met anyone so general and vague in his life. Still, he remembered the Congas he had seen this morning and eyed the girl carefully. If push had come to shove, he could've taken out the youngins, but that older one and the juveniles would have been a serious problem. The fact that she talked about killing them with such ease made put Sebastian on edge a little. You killed a pack of Congas? He asked, raising an eyebrow before indicating the building he had just come from with a slight nod of his head, There are some Gigi in there, butchered a group of my people. Well they weren't my people, I didn't know them or anything, but they were like me and not...you. Sebastian took in a deep breath, he was confused to say the least, this girl was so like him, like all the Nova he had seen, yet there were slight things that were blatantly different. This faraway place she was talking about, Ares maybe? Poseidon? Mulling it over, he finally decided to ask the most pressing question on his mind, What, uh, what's a cat?

Giggi?...what's a Giggi, I mean it doesn't sound pleasant and I take it the Conga's are what those pink gorillas are actually called hmm it fits..I guess, odd how language seems to still linger. Makes me wonder if that tower of babel shit was actually real life. Anyways a yes a cat, rather cute creatures about yay high four legged covered in fur and they have a tail...never step on the tail they'll claw the shit out of you. Anyways slightly built and they have pads on their feet so you can't hear them coming retractable claws and they are related to apex predators like lions and tige-...sigh what's the point you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. she said before cracking her neck.

We'll start over, my name is Angel, yes I killed a pack of Congos..or were they Congas..whatever there was this big one with a fohawk and there were smaller ones still as big as me though that were taking orders from the thing. Anyways judging by your reaction they are pretty tough? Meh fought worse back in the snowy place in this world and I reckon you've either quite smitten with my appearance or trying to figure out what's wrong with my ears. Angel said with a laugh before her face went back into a smirk. But um no I'm not a Nova, we look a like though right? Funny how evolution works anyways I'm a Human, I'd kind of not want to shatter your expectations of the world and all that jazz so I'm going to happily deflect all of your questions.

Sebastian simply took in her story and explanations and blinked, saying nothing with a completely emotionless and straight face.  As she finished wrapping up everything, Sebastian began walking towards her, however, he didn't really go to her, instead he passed by her, continuing walking.  It was like...she had broken him.  Over his shoulder he said, No names, I don't do names.  It's never good to become personal with someone.  He continued walking before realizing she wasn't coming and turning around, I don't know what your plans are but I plan on getting out of these ruins before it get dark.  Where there are Gigi...there are Giginox, and that's nothing compared to your Con- er, gorillas did you call them?  Sebastian was still reeling from everything she had told him, granted he wouldn't allow it to show.  So a cat was apparently a devastatingly powerful creature that possessed some sort of noise canceling adaptation and razor sharp claws that could shred you to bits. He shuttered slightly, trying to picture going toe to toe with such a vicious predator, and here this girl was claiming she had one as a pet.
